Bihar, located in eastern India, is the third most populous state in the country. According to the 2011 Census, it had a population of 10.41 crore (104.1 million), which is estimated to have risen to around 13.5 crore in 2025. The state is one of India’s most densely populated regions with over 1,100 persons per sq. km.
